Volunteer Opportunities

We're thankful that you are interested in volunteering with us! Volunteer opportunities for adults and teens are available year-round at the Goleta and Santa Ynez Valley Libraries. If you are looking for a way to get involved in your community, the library's Volunteer Program might be the place for you.

Volunteer opportunities vary based on the library's current needs. Please check with your local branch for more information. Thank you!

Teens ages 14-17 are eligible to volunteer at the library and can earn Community Service Hours. Throughout the year, they can serve as Homework Help volunteers, provide support for children’s craft programs, clean library materials, shelve items, and assist staff with special projects. During the summer, many teens help with the annual Summer Reading Program.

If you are interested, please provide the following documents:

You may drop off your completed paperwork in person at your local branch, or email it to goletavalleylibrary@cityofgoleta.org, buelltonlibrary@cityofgoleta.org, or solvanglibrary@cityofgoleta.org.
